Faculty of Science – Gharyan Continues Its Leadership in Supporting Interdisciplinary Projects and Academic Innovation
In an academic achievement that reflects the Faculty of Science – Gharyan’s vision of strengthening integration between technical and human sciences, the Faculty participated in the discussion of a joint graduation project entitled:
“Employing Artificial Intelligence in the Judiciary: An Applied Legal Study.”
This project represents the first joint graduation project between colleges of the University of Gharyan, bringing together the Faculty of Science – Gharyan, represented by the Department of Computer Science, and the Faculty of Law and Political Science. This pioneering academic experience highlights the importance of interdisciplinary studies and demonstrates that addressing contemporary challenges requires genuine integration across different fields of specialization. Such collaboration contributes to developing innovative scientific solutions that serve society and respond to the demands of the future.
The discussion was attended by a distinguished group of judges, legal professionals, and academics, whose legal and practical contributions enriched the academic dialogue. The event was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Science – Gharyan; the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Science – Gharyan, who supervised the project on behalf of the Faculty; the Head of the Department of Computer Science; and a number of faculty members from the Faculty of Science – Gharyan.
Representatives from the Faculty of Law and Political Science also attended, including its Dean, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Head of the Department of Law, and the Director of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center at the University of Gharyan, in addition to members of the two colleges’ examination committees, as well as a number of interested attendees and the students’ families.
The discussion demonstrated a high level of academic excellence and highlighted the promising potential of artificial intelligence technologies in supporting the judicial system within appropriate legal and ethical frameworks. Such applications can contribute to enhancing institutional performance, fostering a culture of innovation, and preparing graduates equipped with both legal knowledge and technical skills to keep pace with digital transformation.
The Faculty of Science – Gharyan extends its sincere congratulations to the students who worked on the project, as well as to the supervising and examining faculty members and everyone who contributed to the success of this distinguished work. The Faculty looks forward to this project serving as the beginning of a series of joint academic projects that strengthen scientific research, support innovation, and foster collaboration among the colleges of the University of Gharyan.
