Orientation Day for New Students – Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Gharyan
In collaboration with the Faculty Registrar and the Department of Chemistry, an Orientation Day was organized on Monday, 12 May 2025, for new students of the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, Gharyan.
Under the supervision of the Department of Chemistry, the students toured the faculty, beginning with a visit to the Registrar’s Office, where they were warmly welcomed. The registrar encouraged academic achievement and explained the key rules and regulations governing the student academic process. The students were introduced to the units under the registrar’s office, their roles in facilitating student procedures, and received guidance on how to initiate and complete these processes, in addition to answers to their questions.
The students then visited the Office of the Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs, where the administrative structure of the faculty and the hierarchy of student-related procedures were clarified. The Vice Dean welcomed the students to visit her office at any time for consultation throughout their academic journey.
Next, the students visited the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Department as part of awareness-raising on the importance of quality and the student’s essential role in maintaining the quality file.
During their visit to the Community and Environment Service Office, the office director explained the vital role of students in community service and its significance.
The students also toured other faculty units, including the library, where library staff introduced them to various procedures, such as book borrowing and the internal system of the library.
The Orientation Day concluded with visits to the lecture halls and laboratories of the faculty.
