Workshop on Artificial Intelligence Tools in Scientific Research and Community Service – 6 February 2025

At Faculty of Science, Gharyan, a workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence Tools in Scientific Research and Community Service” was organized in collaboration with the Community and Environment Service Office, the Research and Consultation Office, and the Department of Computer Science.

The event began with opening remarks from the University President and the Dean of the Faculty, highlighting the importance of artificial intelligence in advancing scientific progress and contributing to community service. The organizers also delivered a speech outlining the objectives of the workshop and the role of technological tools in supporting scientific research and developing community work environments.

The workshop featured two main lectures covering the latest AI tools and their applications in scientific research, presented by:

  • Ms. Samar Al-Taher Al-Arabi
  • Ms. Intisar Miloud Al-Shams

Additionally, two demonstration projects were presented:

  • Libyan Banknote Detection System for the Visually Impaired Using AI – Engineers Siraj Al-Dubaa and Ibrahim Amoura
  • Brain Tumor Detection Model Using AI Techniques – Engineer Shaaban Mohamed Shaaban

The workshop was attended by deans and vice deans of various faculties, faculty members, students, researchers, as well as members of Tamkeen Organization and the Red Crescent – Gharyan Branch.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participation certificates were distributed to attendees. Certificates of attendance will be prepared according to the registration lists and information on how to collect them will be announced soon.
