On Wednesday, December 12, 2024, the activities of the Second Scientific Conference on Water Resources and Water Security in Libya, which was held during the days (9-11-12-2024) at Sabha University, concluded.

The Faculty of Science at Gharyan University played a prominent role in this conference through the presence of Dr. Mahmoud Ramadan Al-Sufi, Head of the Geology Department, who was an active member in the conference preparatory meetings over the past year at Sabha University.

The conference was also attended by Professor Mustafa Abdel Salam Al-Issawi, a faculty member in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources at the College of Science.

As part of the conference activities, the first day included four scientific sessions during which twenty-one research contributions were presented in various fields of water resources. As for the second day,

The participants presented twenty-three research papers, in addition to a number of honorary lectures given by professors from (Italy, Tunisia, Algeria, and Libya.) 

At the end of the conference, Gharyan University was honored with the conference shield and a certificate of appreciation, and Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sufi was awarded a certificate of thanks and appreciation for his outstanding contributions in preparing and organizing the conference.
