A Tribute to a Distinguished Educator and Scholar

Professor Abdulrahman Al-Ajeeli Abu Abdullah, May He Rest in Peace

In an atmosphere filled with remembrance and gratitude, and with hearts accepting the will and decree of Allah, a memorial ceremony entitled “A Tribute of Loyalty” was held this morning, Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Faculty of Science Auditorium, in memory of the distinguished educator Professor Abdulrahman Al-Ajeeli Abu Abdullah, a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry, and in recognition of his distinguished academic and educational career marked by dedication and service.

The ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering, reflecting the high academic and human standing the late professor held in the hearts of his colleagues, students, and those who knew and appreciated him. Attendees included the Dean of the Faculty, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, the Head of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Department, the Head of the Research and Consultation Department, the Director of the Postgraduate Studies Office, the Faculty Registrar, the Head of the Study and Examinations Department, heads of the academic departments, and representatives of the Faculty Members’ Union at both the University and Faculty levels.

The ceremony was also attended by members of the late professor’s family, including his sons, brothers, and relatives, along with faculty members, technical staff, administrative employees, friends, and colleagues who shared his academic journey.

The memorial program featured words of condolence and heartfelt tributes highlighting the late professor’s virtues, distinguished character, and sincere dedication to his academic and educational mission. His biography and academic achievements were also presented through a visual presentation documenting key milestones of his professional and scholarly career and highlighting the lasting positive impact he left on the Department of Chemistry, the Faculty, and the wider academic community.

One of the most moving moments of the ceremony was seeing many attendees, despite their different academic and professional positions today, who had once been his students and had benefited from his knowledge, guidance, and mentorship.

The speakers unanimously emphasized that Professor Abdulrahman Al-Ajeeli was not merely an outstanding university professor, but also a devoted educator and a true mentor who carried a meaningful mission. Through his work, he contributed to instilling the values of knowledge, commitment, and integrity in successive generations of students.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Faculty of Science extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone who participated in this heartfelt tribute and contributed to its success.

We pray that Almighty Allah may grant the deceased His vast mercy and forgiveness, admit him into His spacious Paradise, and reward him abundantly for the beneficial knowledge and sincere contributions he gave throughout his life.
