The college organized today, Wednesday, January 1, 2025, a special day that included a tree planting campaign under the slogan ..

"Tree of Life, for a better environment",

Under the supervision of the Director of the Office of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the college and the Office of Community Service and Environment and in cooperation between professors, employees, students and volunteers from the local community.

This campaign came to reflect the importance of preserving the environment and increasing green spaces on campus.

The event was opened with a speech by the Dean of the College, who welcomed the distinguished attendees and stressed the importance of this initiative in promoting environmental awareness within the university campus, noting that caring for the environment has become a priority that all institutions must work to promote. This was followed by a speech by the Director of the Community Service and Environment Office at the College, who spoke about the importance of collective cooperation in implementing sustainable environmental projects and the role of the College in spreading the culture of sustainable agriculture.

After that, Professor Khairiya Al-Saedi, Head of the Department of Botany, gave a valuable lecture in which she discussed methods of fertilizing plants in an effective and easy way, emphasizing the importance of sustainable agriculture and how to apply these techniques in homes and gardens without the need for a huge budget.

In conclusion, the Director of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Office at the College gave a closing speech in which she expressed her thanks to all participants and organizers, noting that the campaign came as a result of fruitful cooperation between the college’s professors, employees, and students and the Tamkeen Organization for Social Development. Ms. Najia Masoud Al-Sayed worked for more than three years with diligence, effort, and mastery in her duties as Director of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Office at the College and left her last mark on this campaign after She submitted her exemption request and was assigned other tasks, we wish her success in completing them in the required manner. 

The event was also attended by a number of prominent figures, including the President of the University, the Director of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Office, and the Gharyan Scout Commission, where there was a speech by the Director of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Office, who praised the importance of these initiatives in promoting a sustainable university environment, and praised the role of the college in raising environmental awareness and developing sustainable agriculture projects.

The event also witnessed wide participation from all members of the university community, as employees and faculty members donated sums of money to support the tree planting campaign, and a number of nursery owners and pottery owners participated in the exhibition held on the sidelines of the event.

This event is the beginning of practical steps towards building a more sustainable environment in the College of Science, and reflects the fruitful cooperation between all parties, including professors, staff, students, and members of the local community, to make our environment greener and more beautiful.
