World Chemistry Day

In an atmosphere full of enthusiasm and a spirit of knowledge, the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science – Gharyan organized an event on Sunday, 2 November 2025 to celebrate World Chemistry Day. The event aimed to raise awareness of the role of chemical sciences in supporting sustainable development and advancing scientific research. It featured wide participation from faculty members and students, along with the presence of distinguished academic leaders from the University.

The celebration was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the University, the Director of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Center, the Director of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center, the Head of the Faculty Members Association at the University, the Dean and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Science, the Director of Graduate Studies at the Faculty, the Head of the Research and Consultancy Department, the Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs, and the Director of the Community Service and Environment Office, in addition to department heads of the Faculty. Members of the Libyan Chemists Association also participated, enriching the event with their scientific contributions and professional expertise, giving the celebration a distinguished academic character.

The program included scientific presentations delivered by faculty members and students, covering the latest developments in both theoretical and applied chemistry. It also featured scientific competitions aimed at enhancing critical thinking and encouraging innovation among students. Constructive academic discussions highlighted the vital role of chemistry in developing modern industries and supporting research and development efforts across various sectors.

The Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to all participants, including faculty members, students, and partners from the Libyan Chemists Association, for their contributions to the success of this scientific event.
