Microbial susceptibility tests to medical and non-medical antibiotics between standard and improvisation

In coordination between the Scientific Research and Consultation Office and the Environment and Community Service Office at the College of Science (Gharyan), and in cooperation with the Scientific Affairs Office at the College of Pharmacy and the University’s Training and Development Office. On Wednesday, 6/13/2024, a symposium was organized entitled “Tests for the sensitivity of microbes to medical and non-medical antibiotics between standard and improvised” in the conference hall of the College of Human Medicine. This presentation targeted workers in medical analysis laboratories and students from the College of Sciences in Gharyan, Pharmacy, the Laboratory Department, and all Those interested in this field in the region.

The students presented an example of the results of the practical application of standard methods by explaining the results of a study on the prevalence of resistance of intestinal bacteria to some antibiotics among those visiting medical analysis laboratories in the Gharyan Al-Markaz area, which was one of the graduation requirements for the Zoology Department at the college. 

Then, Dr. Khamis Al-Farouj, Dean of the College of Human Medicine, expressed his willingness to support the continuation of such studies that serve the community and encourage continued cooperation between colleges. 

In conclusion, Dr. Hala thanked the entities that contributed to supporting this study, and Professor Salem Al-Shaibani, Head of the Office of Scientific Affairs / College of Pharmacy, handed over certificates of thanks and appreciation to Dr. Hala and the participating students.
